We call you to confirm details, usually within Same Day Response.
What's included in a free quote?
Your quote includes a full site and roof assessment, a system design tailored to your postcode and roof type, and a breakdown of the installed cost, available rebates and Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) you may claim. We inspect roof pitch, aspect, shading, structural condition and your switchboard, then calculate the system size (in kW) that matches your annual usage and daylight hours in your zone. The quote shows the price range for your chosen panel and inverter brands, any state energy rebates, and the estimated upfront STC discount. We also explain the 25-year panel warranty, inverter warranty terms and our installation guarantee.
How much does a residential solar system cost?
A typical residential solar panel installation runs $4,000–$9,500 AUD for system design, panels, inverter, racking, isolators and installation labour by an accredited electrician. The final price depends on system size (measured in kilowatts), panel and inverter brand tier, roof type and pitch, switchboard condition, single or three-phase power, and how much rewiring your home needs. A 3 kW system for a small suburban home typically costs less than a 6 kW system for a larger house or a four-bedroom property with high summer air-conditioning use. Ask us to compare tier-one and mid-tier panel options so you can see the cost and output difference.
What's the price range for a solar battery?
Battery installation alone ranges from $7,000–$15,000 AUD depending on battery type, capacity (measured in kWh) and whether your switchboard needs upgrading. If you are adding a battery to an existing solar system, budget $7,500–$16,000 AUD because we may need to install new wiring, upgrade your inverter or modify your switchboard. Larger batteries (10–15 kWh) cost more upfront but store more energy for evening use or blackout backup. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program offers tiered discounts: approximately $252/kWh for the first 14 kWh, $151/kWh from 14–28 kWh and $38/kWh from 28–50 kWh (2026 rate, confirmed 1 May 2026). Current eligibility and rebate amounts change on set dates, so confirm the latest figures with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water (DCCEEW) or your state energy agency before you commit.
How do Small-scale Technology Certificates reduce my upfront cost?
Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) are federal tradeable credits issued by the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) for solar systems under 100 kW. Your installer assigns your STCs to a NETCC Approved Seller, who discounts them from your invoice at the point of sale—usually delivering a $1,000–$3,000 reduction depending on system size and your postcode zone. The discount formula is: system size (kW) × zone multiplier (typically 1.0–1.5 for most Australian suburbs) × 5-year deeming period × $38 per STC. A 5 kW system in a zone with multiplier 1.2 receives approximately 300 certificates (5 × 1.2 × 5 × 1) worth about $11,400 in tradeable value; your discount is typically lower because markets and retailer margins apply. The CER publishes zone multipliers, deeming years and current STC prices on its website; we calculate your exact entitlement at quote stage and explain it line by line.
Why does roof type and pitch affect my quote?
Roof type (tile, metal, slate, concrete) and pitch determine how we mount the system, what fixings we use and how long installation takes. North-facing roofs in Australia generate the most solar energy; east and west faces are acceptable but produce less. A steep pitch (45°) sheds water well but needs special scaffolding and roof protection; a shallow pitch (15–25°) is quickest to work on. Tiled roofs require careful drilling and sealing; metal roofs allow faster bolt-down racking. We inspect your roof structure, gutters, flashings and any previous damage or repairs during the site visit, then quote labour and materials accordingly. If your roof needs repair or reinforcement before panels can be installed, we include that assessment in the quote and can arrange the work.
What happens after I get my quote?
Once you approve the quote, we organise grid connection paperwork with your distribution network operator (the company that manages power lines in your suburb), arrange the installation date, and confirm any rebate applications with the CER or your state energy agency. Before installation we do a final switchboard and safety check; on the day, our accredited electricians mount panels, install the inverter, connect isolators and safety switches, then test the system to make sure it feeds power to your home and the grid correctly. After installation we set up your monitoring app so you can watch daily generation and usage, provide a warranty and maintenance schedule, and give you the paperwork you need for insurance and future resales. If you choose a battery, the process is similar but may take longer if your switchboard needs upgrading. We include 5 years of free monitoring and support; ongoing maintenance (panel cleaning, inverter checks) is available as add-on services.
Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?
Yes. Adding a battery to an existing system costs $7,500–$16,000 AUD and depends on your current inverter type and switchboard condition. If your existing inverter is a string inverter (common in older installations), we may need to replace it with a hybrid inverter that can charge and discharge a battery; that adds cost and downtime but unlocks energy storage. Your switchboard and wiring must be upgraded to safety standards for battery use, which we assess during a site visit. Hybrid or all-in-one battery systems (like integrated inverter-plus-battery units) are faster and cheaper to install than retrofitting to an older inverter-only setup. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program rebates apply to battery-only installations on existing solar, so confirm your eligibility with the CER.
Do you install EV chargers and heat pump hot water systems?
Yes. We install level 2 EV chargers (wall-mounted, 7–11 kW) for $1,200–$3,200 AUD, including a dedicated circuit, weatherproof housing and an app for charging schedules. Heat pump hot water systems replace traditional electric or gas tanks with efficient units that extract warmth from outside air and cost $3,500–$6,000 AUD installed. Both work well with solar: you can charge your vehicle or heat water during daylight hours when your panels produce power, reducing grid imports and lowering bills. We assess your electrical capacity and hot water demand during the site visit and design the installation to work alongside your solar system.
